Excel C1L3 Stock Tracker

  1. Open Excel and create a blank worksheet.
  2. Save the file on the server with the name StockTrackerYourName
  3. Create a header with the following information:
    1. Your name on the left.
    2. Page number code in the center.
    3. Date code on the right.
  4. Switch back to normal view.
  5. Select A1
  6. Type Stock Tracker
  7. Change A1 to the Heading 1 Cell Style
  8. Select A3
  9. Type Value
  10. Change to the Heading 2 Cell Style
  11. Select A4
  12. Type Stock
  13. Select B4
  14. Type Ticker
  15. Select C4
  16. Type today's date
  17. Select A4:C4
  18. Change to 20% - Accent1 Cell Style
  19. Select A5:B9
  20. Change to Accent1 Cell Style
  21. Use finance.yahoo.com to look of five stocks that are one the NASDAQ or the NYSE
  22. Put the company name in the Stock Column
  23. Put the Ticker in the Ticker column.
  24. Put the most recent price in under today's date.
  25. In cell A11 Type Shares
  26. In cell B11 Type Value
  27. Change the range A11:B11 to 20% - Accent1 Cell Style.
  28. Select A12:A16
  29. Change to cell style Accent1
  30. Type Total in Cell A17
  31. Select A17:B17
  32. Apply the 40% - Accent5 Cell Style
  33. Select B17
  34. Type =SUM(B12:B16)
  35. Select B12
  36. Type =C5*A12
  37. Change to Accounting Format
  38. Select B12 Again
  39. Drag the fill handle down to B16 to copy the formula.
  40. Select the range C5:C9
  41. Change to Accounting Format
  42. Select B17
  43. Change to Accounting Format
  44. Adjust the width of Column A and Column B so you can see everything.
  45. Your spread sheet should look like the one below except that you should have five stocks and a total of just under $10,000
  46. Finished Excel Project
  47. Adjust the number of shares so that you have spent just under $10,000 Total
  48. Save your changes
  49. Turn it in
